Biography:

For over twenty years the band ACHERON has been synonymous with such things as Satanism, the Dark Arts, Hatred, Rebellion, Chaos and Underground-Cult music. Metal fans either adore or despise them. The band’s uncompromising attitude tends to offend those who didn’t share the same views, but also rallies a legion of fans that resonated to their sinister gospels. This is what sets them apart from so many of the trendy bands that come and go. ACHERON antics aren’t a gimmick; they’re just a part of their lifestyle. Band founder Vincent Crowley set forth to create a band that revealed the true philosophy of Satanism, while also exploring various aspects of Occult history, folklore and practice. His goal was indeed a success!

During their first decade in existence ACHERON put out a variety of releases on a number of Record Labels, which included the albums RITES OF THE BLACK MASS, SATANIC VICTORY, LEX TALIONIS, ANTI-GOD, ANTI-CHRIST and THOSE WHO HAVE RISEN. The band was also featured on a quite a few compilation and tribute albums.

The second decade started with the band signing to BLACK LOTUS RECORDS. They started their union with the release of TRIBUTE TO THE DEVIL’S MUSIC and a double-cd entitled DECADE INFERNUS: 1988-1999. Later, ACHERON released the diabolical album REBIRTH: Metamorphosing Into Godhood.

Unfortunately, BLACK LOTUS RECORDS went out of business, which in turn put a stop to the recording the next album. Being a bit frustrated ACHERON took some time off from the music business and decided to only concentrate on playing select live shows. This actually lasted several years!

Finally, five long years after the release of their last full length album, ACHERON signed a recording contract with DISPLEASED RECORDS. During the exact month of their 20th Anniversary ACHERON began recording their next album THE FINAL CONFLICT: Last Days of God. The long awaited album was officially released on April 30th, 2009 on Walpurgisnacht.

Presently, ACHERON is planning to do a variety of shows to help support the new cd release. So keep an eye out for the band on tour in your area!
