Biography:

The roots of NOCTURNAL go back into the year 1997 where a band called BESTIAL DESECRATION recorded their first demo. To make a long story short, BESTIAL DESECRATION split up in 2000 and the only founding member renamed the band to NOCTURNAL. The aim was still like from the beginning to play riff-based old school thrash in the vein of DESTRUCTION, ASSASSIN, LIVING DEATH, SODOM, IRON ANGEL, EXUMER, KREATOR and many more.

First release under the NOCTURNAL banner was the 'Rites of the black mass' demo. Late 2000 Avenger met Skull Crusher who joined the band to play the 2nd guitar and to do the vocals! With this 2-piece line-up the band recorded 4 tracks from December 2000 to February 2001. 2 of the 4 songs were released on the 'Slaughter command' single. Halfway 2001 Metallic Mayhem (vocals) and Hellbastard (drums) completed the band, and they parted ways with Skull Crusher (now in FLESHCRAWL). With this 3-piece line-up they recorded 5 tracks in November 2001 which was released as the 'Thrash with the devil' mini album in early 2002.

In the meantime the band found 2 new members in Jex (ex-VEXED) on the 2nd guitar and Vomitor on the bass. In early April 2003 they entered the studio again to record another single, called 'Fire of revenge', which got released after a bunch of delays one year later. In the meantime they partened ways with Jex.

NOCTURNAL went on with only one guitar on live gigs with Avenger recording both guitars in the studio himself. Rehearsals were now much more productive and effective than earlier on, so pretty soon they completed the songs for their first full length album. The band signed with From Beyond Productions from Holland, and in June/July of 2004 the band entered the Toxomusic Studio (DESASTER, METALUCIFER, DECAYED) again. The result is called 'Arrival of the carnivore', an amazing unholy thrashing piece of pure 80s worshipping underground thrash metal mayhem! Kris Verwimp completed the album with masterly fitting artwork. CD version by From Beyond Productions. LP version licensed to Deathstrike Records.

In 2008 a change in line-up, new vocalist Tyrannizer joined forces and the recordings of the new album ‘Violent revenge’ started soon after. Again the Toxomusic Studio was chosen to record this awesome catchy new thrash album. The new vocalist fits in perfectly and is a genuine asset to the band. Because of the success of the ‘Temple of sin’ videoclip, which was viewed over 40.000 times on Youtube, NOCTURNAL?decided to shoot another one for a track from the new album. ‘Violent revenge’ will be released in June and will hit you like a razor!
