In the 16 years that Displeased Records officially exists, we have signed over 100 bands from totally unknown underground acts to well-known bands. In the early 90s most bands we signed were unknown and so were we. By the end of the 90s, we also started signing more well known bands. We have seen unknown bands like Manegarm and Altar become very well known and respected acts. In the currect musical market, where it is pretty hard to start the promotion and marketing of unknown bands to make them succesful and earn a well-known status, our policy to signing new bands is that we will contact bands ourselves we think would be good on our label. We therefore urge you not to send us any demos. We simply do not have the time to carefully listen to all demos we receive. We will therefore not check out demos which were sent unsollicited.
